Meet Your Local Friend in Japan — Why I Started This Blog

Introduction: Why I Started This Blog

In recent years, I’ve seen more and more people visit Japan, drawn by its safety, convenience, and unique culture.

Living in Nara, I often visit Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe — and some days, it feels like there are more tourists than locals!

At the same time, I’ve been lucky to meet wonderful friends from abroad. I deeply respect their courage in coming all the way to Japan. But no matter how safe and modern Japan is, I’ve noticed visitors always run into challenges — cultural differences, small troubles, or confusion about local manners.

I don’t want anyone to have a sad or frustrating experience here. That’s why I started this blog and First Drink Concierge — to be a bridge between visitors and locals, so everyone can enjoy Japan to the fullest.

Who I am

I love food and geography, so I know many great places. When I see visitors lining up at Ichiran or Ippudo, I think: “Those are great, but there are even better spots I’d love to show you!”

I’ve lived near Yokosuka’s U.S. Navy base and traveled to Hawaii, Vancouver, New York, Seattle, and Sydney. These experiences help me see Japan from different angles.

My English isn’t perfect, but I love connecting with people. A Mexican friend once told me, “You’re more Mexican than Japanese!” I enjoy good food, music, and dancing — so don’t be surprised if I invite you to join the fun!
